To protect components from overloading or failure.
The LCS torque limiter is a fully mechanical device that immediately cuts off a torque transmission when its demand value exceeds the limiter calibration value. It can operate equally in both directions.
It is not a safety device, since its purpose is to protect the mechanical parts located between the motor and the limiter from potential damage resulting from instantaneous or permanent overloads.
All moving parts of the limiter are guided by roller bearings and torque transmission is ensured by a series of hardened and rectified rollers, which are engaged in a hardened and rectified track located in the limiter so that specific stresses are kept within very low values.
The limiter is calibrated by means of a series of highly flexible chrome-vanadium steel helical springs: this ensures high calibration accuracy and readiness for action even long after installation.
The disengagement of the limiter is detected by the axial displacement of a movable plate, which can be used to stop the motor unit and allow the cause of the overload to be removed. Once the cause of the disengagement has been removed, simply turn the driven part clockwise or counter-clockwise to re-engage it in the possible position, thus restoring the phase of the machine.
Our LCS torque limiter is primarily built as an option for Rotoblock station dividers and can be supplied with special keying upon request. Our dedicated technical department is available to study and recommend the most suitable type and application to meet all needs and guarantee the ideal performance required.
